  • Toys For Tots

The BIG HELP CLUB is excited to kick off their first community service project while partnering with Toys For Tots. The students in the BIG HELP CLUB are asking for our families to consider donating an unwrapped toy that will go to a child in need. Together as a school and community, we can continue to work to support area programs and give resources to those in need.

Students can simply bring an unwrapped toy to school and place it in the box outside of their classroom. The classroom with the highest percentage of donated toys will receive a reward party to celebrate the collaboration of community service.

We greatly appreciate your support and contributions in working with the BIG HELP CLUB. If you have any questions, please email broadwatere@youghsd.net

  • Veteran's Day Program

As you know, November 11th is Veteran's Day. This holiday is one of the most important holidays of the year. It is the day when the people of the United States unite to thank the men and women who have served in the Armed Forces and courageously protected our country.

The children at Mendon Elementary will be celebrating Veteran's Day on Friday, November 9th. On this day, we will gather as a school to pay tribute to the Veterans of the United States of America. We will be presenting two programs, 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. We highly recommend adhering to the designated sessions in order to have enough seating to accommodate everyone. Each program will be the same.

10:00 AM Session: For parents of children in kindergarten, first and second grades and for veterans and their spouses.

2:00 PM Session: For parents of children in third and fourth grade and for any veteran who can't attend the morning session.

Paying tribute to the veterans is the main goal of the program. We want the students to understand that men and women in our school community are veterans. Therefore, we are extending an invitations to all family members and friends who are veterans or currently serving to attend the program .
